About Graham Young: New Zealand Artist

Graham Young is a New Zealand landscape artist based in Waihi Beach, Bay of Plenty. Working from his studio on the Bay of Plenty coast, Graham's original oil paintings, fine art prints and calendars are available through this online store, with international shipping worldwide.

Graham Young captures the snapshots of Kiwi life that often go overlooked. With a background as a photolithographer and a career in the design and prepress industry, Graham returned to concentrate on his first love of oil painting in the early 2000s, capturing the human imprint on the New Zealand landscape.

Graham Young — NZ Landscape Artist, Waihi Beach

From coastal baches to suburban corners and rural scenes, Graham's work is a celebration of the "laid-back" Kiwi lifestyle. He has a particular fondness for the signposts of the past—weathered caravans and old vehicles—preserving the memories of a slower pace of life amidst the rush of modern progress.

In the Community & Beyond
Graham is an active member of the New Zealand arts community. Recently, he has contributed his expertise as a judge for the Art Waikino exhibition and shared his process with the public during the Bay of Plenty (BOP) Open Studios.

His paintings are held in private collections across New Zealand, Australia, the USA, and the UK. Beyond the canvas, Graham's work has been curated into a range of tangible keepsakes, including his annual New Zealand Art Calendars, premium jigsaw puzzles, and coaster sets. He is also the author of two celebrated books, Lazy Days and A Painted Journey, which serve as a full-colour tribute to his adopted home.

Commissions & Custom Prints
Graham's focus on the "Kiwi lifestyle" often leads to custom requests for specific scenes. He accepts a limited number of commissions each year, working closely with clients to capture personal signposts of their own journeys. Many of Graham's previous original works are also available as high-quality fine art prints.

Born in England, Graham has lived in New Zealand since 1982 — with his adopted home of Waihi Beach, Bay of Plenty remaining his primary inspiration.
