Commission a Custom Piece
Example: A bespoke landscape commission capturing a personal New Zealand memory.
Capturing Your Personal Signposts
While Graham focuses on the snapshots of Kiwi life that resonate with many, he understands that some memories are deeply personal. Whether it’s the family bach, a first car, or a specific rural scene that holds a place in your heart, Graham accepts a limited number of custom commissions each year.
A Simple 3-Step Process
Working on a commission is a collaborative journey. Graham’s goal is to translate your memory into a piece of fine art while maintaining his signature style of technical precision and nostalgic warmth.
1. Initial Conversation
We start with your idea. You are welcome to share photos, stories, or a specific location you’d like captured. Graham will discuss the composition, lighting, and the overall "feel" of the piece to ensure it aligns with your vision.
2. The Creation
Graham will provide a couple of initial sketches for you to choose from. Once the direction is agreed upon and a deposit is placed, Graham begins the work in his studio using professional-grade oils.
3. Delivery
Your original painting is typically completed within three months. From there, it is ready to be delivered and become a lasting part of your home’s story.
"A commission is more than a painting; it’s a way to preserve a specific moment in time that means something to you."
