Commission a Custom Piece
Some memories are deeply personal — a family bach, a first car, a rural scene that holds a place in your heart. A commission is a way to preserve that moment as a piece of fine art, painted in oils and made to last.
Graham accepts a limited number of custom oil painting commissions each year — a chance to have your own personal scene captured in oils and kept for a lifetime.

Capturing Your Personal Signposts
Commissioning a piece of art is a collaborative way to capture the signposts of your own journey. A custom piece is more than a painting; it's a way to preserve a specific moment in time that means something to you. As a New Zealand landscape artist based in Waihi Beach, Bay of Plenty, Graham works closely with you to ensure the final work reflects the nostalgic warmth and technical character of your chosen scene.
All commissions are painted in oils on stretched canvas — the same materials and process Graham uses for his original collection. Fine art print reproductions of commissioned works can also be arranged on request.
A Simple 3-Step Process
Working on a commission is a collaborative journey. Graham's goal is to translate your memory into a piece of fine art while maintaining his signature style of technical precision and nostalgic warmth.
1. Initial Conversation
We start with your idea. You are welcome to share photos, stories, or a specific location you'd like captured. Graham will discuss the composition, lighting, and the overall "feel" of the piece to ensure it aligns with your vision.
2. The Creation
Graham will provide a couple of initial sketches for you to choose from. Once the direction is agreed upon and a deposit is placed, Graham begins the work in his studio using professional-grade oils.
3. Delivery
Your original painting is typically completed within three months. From there, it is ready to be delivered and become a lasting part of your home's story.
